Terms & Conditions:

These Terms and Conditions relate to the “Win a Trip to Japan” Competition.

  1. Definitions & Interpretation 
    • Competition” shall mean the Win a Trip to Japan competition;
    • Competition Period” shall mean from Friday, 8 March 2019 until 23h59 (SAST) on Friday, 28 June 2019;
    • “Platform” shall mean the website located at the following url only: www.springboks.rugby;
    • Prize” shall mean the Rugby World Cup experience for two people to watch the Springboks vs New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup at International Stadium Yokohama, Yokoham, Japan, as is more fully set out in paragraph 4 below;
    • “Qualifying Participant” shall mean any participant in the Competition whom qualifies for the Prize by adhering to the Entry and Eligibility provisions of participation as set out in these Terms and Conditions;
    • SARU” shall mean the South Africa Rugby Union a voluntary association and the National Federation responsible for Rugby in South Africa with its principle address at SARU House, Platteklooof, Cape Town, South Africa; and
    • Winning Participant” shall mean the participant whom qualifies to win the Prize in the Competition as described in paragraph 3 below, as well as any person selected by the successful Qualifying Participant to share the Prize (“your partner”).

     

  2. Entry & Eligibility: 
    • The Competition is open to members of the public (“Participants”) and Participants shall be automatically entered into the Competition on submission of their entry.
    • Participants seeking entry into the Competition must register on the Platform (by providing at minimum their surname and email address) during the Competition Period. No late entries shall be accepted.
    • Participants must be: 
      • ordinarily resident in South Africa;
      • possession of a valid passport enabling them to travel to Japan; and
      • available to travel to Japan from 19 to 24 September 2019 to be eligible as a Winning Participant in the Competition.
    • SARU or its agents may contact Participants in order to verify whether Competition entries are valid or not.
    • SARU, SARU’s Member Unions / Franchises, their directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, any suppliers of goods or services in connection with this Competition (including Accenture), or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the above named parties and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not eligible as a Winning Participant in this Competition.

     

  3. Determination of Winner 
    • The Winning Participant shall be determined by a random computer draw from the entries received from Qualifying Participants within two (2) working days of the conclusion of the Competition Period.
    • SARU or its agents shall attempt to contact the Winning Participant via the email address and/or other information provided by the Participant in entering the Competition.
    • SARU reserves the right to re-draw the Prize in the event that the Winning Participant has not responded to three (3) attempts by SARU to communicate with him/her.
    • No Prize will be awarded unless or until verification of the Winning Participant is made by the SARU and SARU is satisfied, in its absolute discretion, that the criteria for winning the Prize and the Competition’s Terms & Conditions have been met.
    • SARU’s decision is final.
    • SARU reserves the right to request proof of identity and proof of residency from any Prize winner. Proof of identity includes but is not limited to a valid driver’s licence, identity document, passport and/or bank account details.

       

  4. Prize 
    • The Prize is a Rugby World Cup experience to the watch the Springboks vs New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup at International Stadium Yokohama and includes: 
      • Two (2) match tickets, for the Winning Participant and their selected partner;
      • Two (2) Return economy class tickets from Johannesburg, South Africa to Tokyo, Japan;
      • Hotel accommodation in a centrally located Tokyo hotel for one (1) room for four (4) nights in a standard room (on a twin-share basis);
      • Breakfast provided at the hotel accommodation;
      • Official SA Rugby Travel Memorabilia;
      • Group Travel Insurance; and
      • Ground logistics support from SA Rugby Travel representatives in SA and Japan.
    • SARU shall only be responsible for the costs of any part of the Prize specifically mentionedherein. SARU shall not be responsible for the costs of any alcoholic beverages or other expenses (such as airport taxes, fuel surcharges, passports and visa costs if applicable, admission fees into sights of interests, personal expenses such as tips for meals, gratuities, telephone calls, beverages, all meals excluding breakfast and hotel accommodation and match ticket upgrades) incurred by the Winning Participant.
    • The Prize is not transferable and accordingly may not be exchanged for its cash value.
    • The name and photograph of the Winning Participant awarded the Prize may be posted on the Platform and on SARU’s social media channels.

  5. General Terms and Conditions
  • Participation in the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms & Conditions by the Qualifying Participant or, in the case of a Qualifying Participant under the age of 18, his or her legal guardian.
  • Should there be a dispute, a Qualifying Participant is entitled to make representations in writing to SARU during the Competition Period. SARU shall consider such representations and notify the Qualifying Participant in writing as to the decision taken in respect of the dispute. SARU’s decision in this regard shall be final and binding. No reasons shall be required in respect of such decision and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  • SARU reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to change the Terms & Conditions without prior notice and at its discretion or extend, postpone or discontinue the Competition at any time.
  • SARU reserves the right to withdraw this Competition without notice in the event of force majeure. For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions an event of force majeure shall include but not be limited to any event beyond the reasonable control of a party, such as war, earthquakes, disasters, calamities, strikes or similar circumstances (including the threat thereof).
  • By reading and accepting these Terms and Conditions, the Qualifying Participant gives consent to any risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless SARU and Accenture; their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature, including for any loss, injury, defect in prizes, sustained as a result of their participation in the Competition and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of any indemnified party.
  • SARU shall respect the confidentiality of all participants' personal information and will not sell or distribute such information to any other party without the explicit consent of the participants, except where required to do so by law.
  • By participating in this competition, the Qualifying Participant consents to (i) the processing of his/her personal information by SARU, any of their operators, commercial partners, agents and sub-contractors (who may be outside South Africa) on the condition that they will keep such information confidential; (ii) the collection of the Qualifying Participant’s personal information from any other source to supplement the personal information which SARU has regarding the Qualifying Participant; (iii) the retention of the Qualifying Participant’s personal information for as long as permitted for legal, regulatory, fraud prevention and marketing purposes.
  • The Winning Participant may be required to take part in publicity and participation in this Competition is conditional upon agreement to take part in such publicity. The Winning Participant will not be entitled to any payment or remuneration for any such publicity or otherwise. All and any materials, including publicity materials, will be the sole property of SARU.
  • Under no circumstances shall SARU be liable to anyone for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the negligence or wilful conduct of any third party which may be suffered in relation to the Competition.
  • SARU may refuse to award the Prize to any Participant if, in SARU’s sole opinion, that Participant has violated these Terms & Conditions or has gained an unfair advantage whilst participating in the Competition.
  • The Prize is received and accepted entirely at the Winning Participant’s own risk.
  • These Terms & Conditions will be made available on SARU’s website at www.springboks.rugby during the Competition Period.
  • The laws of the Republic of South Africa govern this promotion and these terms and conditions.
