The Free State Women showed their intent by scoring 17 tries in their 107-5 win over their northern neighbours, with former Springbok Women’s lock, Bernice Strydom, scoring four tries in her new position of centre. The Griffons never stood a chance, conceding 50 points in the first half at Old Grey's in Bloemfontein and another 57 in the second.

SWD also had way too much firepower at the Bridgton Sportsground in Oudtshoorn, scoring 11 tries in their 57-5 win over Griquas.

In the Northern Section, Limpopo secured their first win over the Pumas, who remains the only team in that group who are yet to claim a win.

This weekend will see the Griffons and Griquas trying to regroup after their big defeats last Saturday, while Limpopo will host Valke in what could be a very competitive match in that pool.
