Aphiwe Ngwevu has been one of the first-choice backs for every team she has played in since taking up rugby aged 16. She made her Test debut in 2019 against Uganda, but COVID and motherhood saw her miss out on a fair bit of rugby before she was included in the RWC squad to New Zealand in 2022, a feat she repeated in England in 2025. She is a very strong runner and strong on defence.
