BIO
Nolusindiso Booi retired from rugby after a 15-season career beset by numerous setbacks and injuries, but also one of inspiration, hope, perseverance and determination. The former Springbok Women’s captain became the first player to reach 50 Test caps, while she also extended her record as national captain during her fourth Rugby World Cup, having played in the 2010, 2014, 2022 and 2025 editions. Booi – who made her Test debut in 2010 against Kazakhstan in Dubai – retired as a true leader in all aspects, often topping the stats for most tackles and ruck arrivals, while off the field, she was the perfect soundboard for players and management alike, reflecting issues on both sides with clarity and composure.
