Nombuyekezo Mdliki, who progressed through the age-group pathways, represented the Junior Springbok Women in 2022 and since then, she has been a regular starter for the Border Ladies in on the local provincial scene, where her performances made the national coaches take notice. Mdliki made her Test debut against Italy in the 2024 WXV 2 tournament in Cape Town. She started in all three 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup tests in Madagascar and came off the bench in all four Women's Rugby World Cup matches in England.
