Sanelisiwe Charlie’s reputation as one of the premier loosehead props in the global game started at the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, where she was a bolter selection for the starting team in the tournament’s opening game against France, having only played twice off the bench before that, but delivering a world class performance. Since then, Charlie’s impeccable technique, power and knowledge of the laws have seen her become the preferred choice in the Bok Women No 1 jersey. She made her Test debut against Kenya in Stellenbosch in 2021.
