Mbongeni “Bongi” Mbonambi is a force of nature in the middle of the front row, amassing over 80 Test caps since making his Test debut in 2016. He is renowned for his hard-driving, hard-tackling style of play and usually shares the hooking duties with Malcolm Marx. A key member of the 2019 Rugby World Cup-winning squads in 2019 and 2023, Mbonambi has a healthy penchant for scoring tries off the back of the powerful Bok driving maul.
