Lood de Jager, a tall and physical lock, made his Test debut against Wales in 2014 and continues to be a stalwart in the green and gold despite having to overcome several injuries which have kept him on the sidelines. With his phenomenal lineout abilities and physicality to match, he proved to be one of the rocks in the national team until 2023, when his international career was stalled due to a chest problem and later shoulder surgery, but he returned to the Test fold in 2025.
