Morne van den Berg, fondly known as ‘Krappies’ by his teammates, is a lively scrumhalf with a good feel for the game and an excellent eye for a gap – a legacy of his school days in Johannesburg where he played centre. He made his Test debut against Portugal in 2024 and, being a true team man, waited patiently for his chance to crack the nod more regularly in the Springbok team, which came in 2025 when he added four more Tests to his tally, scoring five tries in the process.
