A born leader, Salmaan Moerat captained both the SA Schools and Junior Springbok teams, as well as his franchise and provincial union, before becoming the 66th Springbok captain in 2024 when he led the team to victories against Portugal and Australia. The hard-working lock, who has had to deal with a fair amount of injury setbacks, made his Test debut against Wales in 2022.
