A memorable 2019 season culminated for the Boks in November when Siya Kolisi lifted the Webb Ellis Cup after they outplayed England 32-12 in the Rugby World Cup Final at the International Stadium Yokohama in Japan.
This followed on a successful Castle Lager Rugby Championship campaign, in which they secured the title for the first time since 2009 after advancing through the three rounds unbeaten.
In the team’s 12 matches in 2019, they suffered only one defeat, against New Zealand in their opening Rugby World Cup pool match, as well as a draw against the All Blacks in Wellington in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship.
