The history
The Springbok Women's Sevens compete at various events within the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series and was a core team for the 2014–15 season. They first played in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens, and also competed in the IRB Women's Sevens Challenge Cup in the 2011–12 season. Perennial African champions, they finished 14th at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco, the same position the occupied four years later at RWC Sevens on home soil in Cape Town.
