A brave fightback from the visitors' in the second half was not enough to overturn the 17-point lead held by the Xerox Golden Lions XV at halftime.
The home side raced to a 17-0 lead in the opening 13 minutes of the match. Stean Pienaar, Madosh Tambwe and Jo-Hanko de Villiers all added to the scoring sheet. Jeanluc Cilliers converted the third try after missing his first two attempts at two-pointers.
The only points for the Valke came via Marco Klopper when he barged over while Errol Jaggers scored the second, with Anrich Richter converting both scores.
It was tight in the second half, but their late surge was not enough for the vistors despite two tries in the last 12 minutes of the match.
