The home side scored nine well-worked tries to two by the visitors, who could not get going all afternoon.
The men from Boland opened the match's scoring with a neatly taken penalty goal by flyhalf Garrick Mattheus but this only opened the flood gates for the Pumas as the home team touched down five times in the first half.
Wing Ruwellyn Isbell dotted down in the 7th minute before no.8 Willie Engelbrecht scored three minutes later. Flyhalf Chris Smith converted the second try.
Mattheus halted the Pumas' run with a penalty goal but this only encouraged their opponents to push harder on attack as flank Jeandre Rudolph crossed the chalk in the 20th minute.
The Cavaliers pulled back a try three minutes later courtesy of replacement utility back Zandre Jordaan before Smith and inside centre Ryan Nell scored for the Pumas.
Mattheus would have the final say in the opening half as he slotted a penalty goal on the stroke of half-time but it did not affect the scoreboard too much as the Pumas went into the break with a 31-16 lead.
The home team continued their fine attacking form as replacement hooker Corniel Els crossed the whitewash with fullback Devon Williams, Isbell and replacement loose forward Marco Palvie adding their names to the scoresheet in the final 15 minutes of the second half.
The visitors were awarded a penalty try in the 80th minute but it was a consolation prize as the Pumas advanced to the final with a 57-32 win.
