The previous time they played as a core team on the world circcuit was in the the 2014-15 season. The Bok Women first played in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens, and also competed in the Women's Sevens Challenge Cup in the 2011–12 season. Perennial African champions, they finished 14th at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco, the same position the occupied four years later at RWC Sevens on home soil in Cape Town in 2022.
