The Cape Peninsula University of Technology claimed a hard-fought opening round win in the FNB Varsity Shield against the University of Fort Hare at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Monday, while the University of KwaZulu-Natal routed Rhodes University, and Walter Sisulu University rewrote the record books against the Durban University of Technology.
